Lose 20 lbs. in 20 Days!

The Challenge

I have entered a challenge with myself to lose 20 lbs. in the next 20 days.  The countdown starts now.  I’ll blog and vlog the journey and post it here.  I’ll take before and after pictures and measurements since I will more than likely gain muscle mass as well.

I have done this before, but I never recorded the journey, so I have decided to do it again and post it here.  My hope is that people will see it and realize that it doesn’t have to be hard to lose weight.  You just have to make a commitment and do it.  I’ve got the tools, the 20/20/20 Diet, and I’m making the commitment.

When I was a single parent trying to lose weight, I used being a single parent as an excuse not to commit, but that’s all it was, an excuse.  I finally made the commitment, and I lost over 85 lbs.  it was one of the easiest things I’ve ever done.  It was literally effortless.  So I’m going to give it another go round.  We’ll see how much I lose in actual weight, and how much my body transforms, which is much more important.

I will follow the 20/20/20 Exercise Plan, and so I expect to gain quite a bit of muscle over the next few weeks.  I’ll take pictures along the way and record my thoughts and feelings.  Hopefully it will inspire those of you who might need a little nudge like I did so long ago.

Just a little background, I’m not genetically blessed with a sexy muscular physique, I’m not a master of self control.  I pass 7 fast food restaurants just leaving my house each day.  I eat at 5 of them.  I LOVE 3 of them.  That is the hardest part.  Not finding myself stuffing a cheeseburger into my face every day just because it’s cheap, tasty and 5 minutes away.  Luckily, the diet requires you to cheat….that will be nice.

I’ve been off the diet for over 6 months now, and have stayed out of the gym completely for over a month.  I have intentionally tried to gain weight for the last week or so when I decided to blog this challenge.  I have eaten so much Captain Crunch and Wendy’s it would make you sick.

Further, I have two bad knees.  Well one of them is bad and the other one misbehaves.  ;)
I am not an athlete, I have never been.  I am a recovering nerd and former fat guy who wants to show people how easy losing weight can be.

I created The 20/20/20 Diet for this reason, and now I want to show people that it’s easy and possible to lose weight.  Whether you use the 20/20/20 Diet or another system, you can do it.  Single Parent or not.  This can be done.

Are you getting the weight loss results you want?  Have you found a system that’s working for you?  Chime In and let me know what’s working for you and what’s not?   I Love hearing from other people and hearing the challenges they face, so Post A Comment and join in.
